HELLO! Welcome to Large Dog Small Apartment!

My name is Danasia Fantastic and I’m the creator of Large Dog Small Apartment. I’m also the creator of TheUrbanRealist.com, a popular lifestyle and home decor blog that I launched in 2013.

I’m obsessed with my Spanish mastiff Humphrey– not only is he the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet but his sheer size makes him a giant teddy bear. Since I’ve been blogging full-time since 2016, having him here has kept me from feeling super lonely spending hours working alone at the house. He’s the best companion!

In December of 2019, I decided to adopt another dog- his name is Miles and he’s a black German Shepherd puppy who turned one June 2020! He’s the funniest dog I’ve ever owned, but also the most rambunctious! He and Humphrey have become the best of friends!

I launched Large Dog Small Apartment because I know how tough it can be to take care of your big dog comfortably in your small space. I live in a one bedroom loft with Miles and Humphrey. It really has taught me to be strategic with the type of furniture I buy and lessons in how to keep them occupied since I work from home. 

I wanted a place to show others that you can have a very large dog and live in an apartment comfortably. I’ve been living in apartments for years now and I’ve always had a large dog. The idea of large dogs only being for people who own or rent large properties is ridiculous! On this blog you’ll find tips, hacks, how-to’s and guides that’ll help make living with your large dog in your small space a breeze!
